Guess What I Just Realized

I was able to cross my first thing off my 30 before 30 list! How awesome is that?!? That's right, I graduated college and it feels so gooood!
And being able to cross that off my list made me want to cross more things off more lists. So I'm making some goals for myself, which are going to be extremely random. But it's going to happen right here, right now!

1. Work on Growing This Blog - I love this blog of mine. Despite my frequent blogging breaks, and still not being able to completely throw myself into it, I really do love it. So my goal is to grow in my writing, my readership, and my involvement in the blogging world. I already took the first step by purchasing my own domain for my blog! I have to say, I am extremely excited about it! Also, I feel like putting money into my blog will cause me to focus on it more. See why in number 2.

2. Continue to Work Out - I have been working out pretty consistently for about a month now. If you have not tried Tone It Up yet, I highly recommend it. I feel so incredibly inspired by those beautiful women! I think what people don't realize is that it really isn't about being skinny, it is about being fit and feeling confident about your body. And I feel more confident than ever! This ties in with number one because since I purchased a gym membership, it makes me want to get the most of my money and get my butt to the gym!

3. Make a Budget and Stick to It - My last semester of college I took a personal finance course that honestly has changed the way I think about money. That sounds so silly, but it's totally true. If you have never read All Your Worth by Elizabeth Warren and Amelia Warren Tyagi, I recommend you get right on it. I now feel so confident that money will not be a big issue in my life because of what I learned in this book. However, with how I am paid (hourly and not on salary, and my hours change weekly) it is really hard for me to create and stick to a set budget. I'm hoping I can figure it all out and stick with it soon.

So three goals are better than no goals, right?? Here's to really hoping I can stick to them.
Do you have any goals you're working on right now?

Summer Goals Revisted

In the middle of June I wrote this post in which I talked about all the goals I had for summer but had yet to put a dent in. I looked back to see if I had actually accomplished any of them and it turns out I did well at almost all of them!

Goal 1. Read...a lot!
Yay for me! I did really well at this all thanks to that nice vacation in California! I ended up reading about nine books, eight of which were read in less than three and a half weeks! Here is my recap of the books I read this summer, no spoilers, I promise!

Goal 2. Work out consistently
Well, this one is a so-so. My roommate and I got really motivated at one point and we worked out almost every day! Then once I got to California I probably stayed motivated for another twoish weeks. But then it all went downhill and I have yet to get back into it.

Goal 3. Blog Good
I did quite well in the month of August, with a record high of 12 posts for the month! But getting back into it has been a struggle since I have gotten back and started school. Usually the school year helps me get into a routine though, so hopefully you will be hearing more from me!

Goal 4. Learn how to play guitar
This one is a definite success! I wouldn't say I'm amazing or anything, but I know quite a few chords and have quite a few songs under my belt, including Pumped Up Kicks, Radioactive, I Won't Give Up, and We Can't Stop.

Goal 5. Decorate my room
This one is a successish. I actually just organized my bookshelf and desk this last week, and then finally got around to putting up my pictures! Well, some of them...haha. I still have my quote boards and "All You Need is Love" painting that Dillon got me, but I need command strips for them and the Safeway right by me didn't have them. Also an ish because school had started by the time I did these things so I can't technically say it was a summer goal completed.

Overall, not too shabby! Hopefully you all were able to accomplish your summer goals, if you had them!

30 Before 30

And then I came to the shocking realization that now that I'm in my 20's, the next thing is my 30's.
Honestly, I don't think it's that awful. I don't think you're considered "old" until you're in your 60's.
That's right, I said it. I mean, just look at my mama. She's 50-something and as gorgeous as ever.
So until I reach that age, I won't be too worried.

That being said, I do think my 20's will be some of the best years of my life.
So here is my 30 before 30...well, at least I'm working on it.

1. Graduate college
2. Marry the love of my life
3. Live in at least one other country
4. Have a mini-me
5. Go skydiving
6. Go on (another) Caribbean cruise
7. Live in Alaska for at least a year
8. Go bungee jumping
9. Visit the east coast
10. Go to Disney World/Universal Studios
11. Honeymoon in the Bahamas
12. Start a garden
13. Be an extra in a movie
14. Go to Country Thunder
15. Go camping for a week
16. Get a tattoo
17. Have a kitten and puppy
18. Backpack across Europe
19. Go on a road trip with Dillon
20. Read a book in one sitting
21. Think of nine more things I want to do before I'm 30

So there you have it! Some of these are a little out there, such as backpacking across Europe, living in another country, AND living in Alaska for a year all before I'm 30?? Really these are just lifetime goals but hey, I can try!
I'll add my 30 before 30 as one of my pages and continue adding on whenever I think of something!
